Minehead has a good small theatre - The Regal - in The Avenue. There is an ABC cinema in the Butlins Complex. Many festivals and events (including the centuries old Hobby Horse in May) are run in Minehead and listings of what's on are posted on this Website and at the Tourist Information Centre (Tel: 0845345 2465).
West Somerset Railway (At the bottom of The Avenue) real, regular steam railway running through West Somerset to Bishop's Lydiard. Lovely views or primroses in the cuttings in springtime. Blenheim Gardens (Off the Parade) Pleasant well kep public gardens with cafe and bandstand and seating.
The Parks Walk (starting from Parkhouse Lane) A really pleasant linear walk through Minehead towards Bratton by a stream and amongst delightful and surprisingly diverse flowering trees and shrubs.
The Harbour (At the end of Quay Street) Lifeboat station, sea fishing trips, Bristol Channel cruises, old Cannons on quayside, launch point for private boats and windsurfers.
North Hill Within Exmoor National Park. Dominates and shelters Minehead. A nature reserve with dozens of paths including the start of the South West Peninsula Long Distance Footpath. Beautiful views of heather and gorse, the Exmoor coastline, the Bristol channel and South Wales.
Sea Front and Beach Something for everybody. The seafront and defenses recently built at a cost of millions provide a very high quality promenade, with attractive lighting at night (a copy of the lighting at Biarritz). Shingle, running into spectacular cliffs towards Porlock. Wide, extensive sands running east towards Dunster beach (wide and flat enough for a wind cart).
Millennium Rose Garden - near Tesco - at the moment rather limited, but a developing public space.
Butlins (at the East end of Minehead) Pool, Cinema and other facilities open to day visitors (April 30th to October 21st).
